What is the ABALOBI Monitor platform?

A digital catch monitoring tool co-designed with small-scale fishers

ABALOBI MONITOR is a mobile- and web-based platform that enables small-scale fishers and their partners to capture, own, visualise and use small-scale fisheries catch landing data.

Initially tested and refined with coastal communities in South Africa, Kenya, Madagascar and Comoros, the platform is now configured for and accessible in several countries* along the Western Indian Ocean as a free-to-use tool for any organisation of any size. It is also available globally (see here for instructions on how to get MONITOR ready for your country, as well as for more advanced platform offerings).
