    We are a diverse team of scientists, small-scale fishers, fisheries experts, community engagement practitioners, developers, environmental anthropologists, seafood transformation experts, food systems advisors and social change innovators.

    We are a South African-based organisation with international reach. We partner with like-minded organisations across the globe to deploy our solutions in various small-scale fisheries contexts.
    Key partners include: Blue Ventures, Irish Islands Marine Resource Organisation (IIMRO), Future Of Fish , Pesca Sustenavel, Seychelles Hook & Line Fishers Organisation, Ocean Outcomes, WWF, Conservation International, World Conservation Society, Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions, SOPACT.

  • OUR SERVICES

    Our modular technology ecosystem, including our FISHER-to-MARKETPLACE and MONITOR solutions, are packaged as Software As A Service (SaaS). This service is underpinned by Community Development, a Community-Supported Fishery Model, Community-level Fisheries Improvement and Impact Measurement.

  • DATA STANDARDS

    Our data elements and database structures follow the GDST1, GSSI and other ISO standards.

  • COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED FISHERY MODEL

    Through our technology, we enable small-scale fishing communities to activate Community-Supported Fisheries (CSF) that promote fair market access, transparent supply chains, and broader food security. In South Africa, Fish With A Story represents the implementation of this CSF model.
